Businesses have been scanning documents for decades now, using the conventional Document feeder which feeds the original via a curved path. This has worked very well for standard paper documents, but there is now a demand to scan receipts, cards, mixed size documents and delicate originals, Ricoh have developed the SD range.
The Ricoh SD series is designed with sustainability at it’s core, helping organisations reduce their environmental impart through energy-efficient operation, eco friendly materials and initiatives like the Ricoh Carbon Balanced Scheme.
What the SD Scanner changes
- Straight paper path feed: There is no need to bend the original, protecting delicate items but also allowing more types of media to be fed
- Mixed media in one batch: Instead of having to sort the originals and feed all of one type/size at a time, mixed originals can be fed and sorted by the machine
- Automatic skew/ rotation correction: prevents having to rescan documents.
The SD models sit within Ricoh’s new A3 IMC colour intelligent devices and integrates cutting edge scanning with all of the core functionality of the standard IMC range (print/copy).
Work environments are constantly evolving aiming to embrace flexible, hybrid working and seamless digital workflows. The SD series machines can scan directly to popular cloud based apps like OneDrive and Microsoft 365 using Ricoh Smart Integration software. This can be as simple as being able to scan to the cloud up to being able to retrieve and edit scans or use OCR for naming.
